We are enormously honored to have been granted the prestigious patronage of UNESCO Guatemala since 2018, less than one year after founding Museo de Arte Publico Ambiental (MaPA) due to our ongoing dedication, commitment and alignment with UNESCO Guatemala’s missions and goals supporting groundbreaking inclusive initiatives in the country.

All aspects of our projects are designed with sustainability and community in mind.

 

We serve as the first national arts organization in the country to remove the gallery door in order to bring Public Art to the greater public. With an extensive international background in the development of social and cultural initiatives and the arts, we provide professional consultancy, work closely in collaboration with local stakeholders and governance to develop inclusive social, cultural, and arts infrastructures that are tailored to meet the diversified needs of communities, while offering socially engaged accessible-to-all arts exhibitions and educational programmes. 

 

Meeting a critical demand and need for more equitable and sustainable practices, MaPA is a high-impact novel response that rise with authenticity out of Mesoamerica and the global south.

​Being the first Guatemalan organization in our field to bring sustainably produced large scale contemporary museum-quality works to a greater public, we are making a bold and unconventional move to democratize and decentralize access to art. As forerunners creating a dialogue between ancient civilization, contemporary art, and environmental conservation, our ultimate goal is to raise awareness and draw global attention to Guatemala's rich heritage.
