Guatemala
Our primary interest is to see Guate succeed for itself. One of the top things Guate needs to grasp is that in many ways its disadvantage is its advantage. Progress in the usual sense of the word is now outdated, as we can see that the world we have been constructing over the past 60 years in many ways does not actually serve us very well and that all alternative methods and new systems must be taken up as quickly as possible to prevent major collapse in our ecosystem.
The fact that Guatemala is still so “undeveloped” means it is also actually much closer to being able to meet global goals of replacing and bringing reversal of damages down. But even more powerfully, with a little support, Guatemala, has the potential and the possibility to do it in its own unique way and on its own terms.

NATIVE MAYAN Q'EQCHI INDIGENOUS
THE FRONT LINE DEFENDERS OF OUR MOST CRITICAL LANDSCAPES TROPICAL FOREST LAND CONSERVATION & RESTORATION INITIAVES
Located in the Buffer Zone between the protected Mayan Biosphere and Lake Petenza, we are at the forefront of both local and global climate challenges. As nature and our ecosystem face unprecedented pressures, we have united to take action, promoting sustainable living, restoration, rebuilding efforts, protecting and nurturing our natural world.
CAMPESINOS LAND CONSERVATION INITIATIVE
We are working in collaboration with a group of more than 50 local indigenous families of La Nueva Esperanza, San Jose Peten, Guatemala, united by our respect and appreciation for nature, our love and caring for the land.
As third and fourth generations of families who carry the tradition of caring and tenure of the land. Our daily existence is reliant on our connection and commitment to nature. Our survival depends on our ability to put a stop to further destruction in our region.

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION
We are currently working with our Community, and local authorities addressing Garbage, Glyphosate, Household detergents, Chemical Fertilisers, grey and black water with run off into the lake basin at our feet. As both a critical environmental and human health issue immediate action must be taken.
REGENERATIVE & SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
There is a major potential for our region to be entirely self sustainable, plus be able to provide to the urbanised communities around the lake with fresh organic local produce.
Tenuring the land using ancient traditionall knowledge combined with modern green technologies, familIes will not only have enough for themselves and their children, but will be able to create additional local commerce that increases direct support to one another making front door exchanges of fresh surplus produce starting by growing right outside in our own backyard gardens.

PROMOTING RESTORATION & REFORESTATION
Guatemala experiences three times the rate of deforestation than any other country in the world. A combination of illegal precious wood export, US consumer beef demand and lack of government control of development is wreaking devastating effects in the region.
We are deciding the future of earth now! Each and every one of us plays an active part today in what the world will look like tomorrow.
