Our high impact exhibitions, offer mass visibility, to benefit the broadest public and participant basis possible. The ADAC initiative is made up of over 400 members, and has formed in order to create a platform capable of uniting all those with interest in investing in and supporting the development of the city of Antigua.

Currently channeling, and hosting an estimated 2 million visitors a year, the number one international destination in Guatemala,  we are taking up the reins to turn Antigua into ‘The new central Arts & Cultural Portal of Guatemala’.

PUBLIC ART PROVIDES NEUTRAL SPACES

As soon as a door is involved a barrier is created and immediately 90% of the population is ruled out. As visionaries, when we look at society, we have to look at it all, at everyone, every existing structure, what works, and what’s not working. We may build straight walls along a river, but water by nature moves in curves. So to with ‘us people’, our tendencies, shaped by our culture, parents, societies, tends to move in certain ways.

By observing how people move we too can begin to see a pattern, and seek the spaces where our projects can be within reach of everyone, on many levels.

Creating our exhibitions in outdoor spaces where people can pause, see something they have never seen before, contemplate, interact, in shared experience. In a neutral space, we forget our differences for a minute, as our human curiosity, and the one ness of humanity is allowed to shine through us. In observing art in public spaces, made by people we know, the invisible thread that binds us to one another creating collective experience, becomes visible. In this way, repeating the process a number of times, how we think, and feel as a society changes. How and what we see begins to become a collective experience.

Antigua is a small city, but it is shared by many. In promoting the arts by our local artists we are also creating a feeling of homemade pride. Our home, our families, our artists, our city, sharing the space with one another and our guests. Although the idea of Public Art is not a new concept, here in Antigua we are breaking new ground, doing something which hasn’t been done before, our goal is to make Antigua a destination, for a new reason- the arts and cultural capital of Guatemala. To turn this beautiful, majestic city into the creative capital of Guatemala.
