In order to graduate you have to have completed a typing Class BUT THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT HAS NOT BUDGETED IN TEACHER at 7 OF OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS

We are fairly sure it is a Human Rights violation that the central Government of Guatemala has chosen not to budget a Computer Lab TEACHER

The reasoning is that these youth are expected to fail, expected to go back to working in the fields, expected not to have a future.

For many adolescents in Peten, school is the only place they have access and the opportunity to even use a computer! Without finishing the Typing and Technology Class they will not pass graduation, and will not be able to go on to any other further education.

We are very proud of the 239 graduates we supported this past year!!

LIFE OPPORTUNITIES

Having Tech Literacy changes peoples lives. For these guys it also means a way out....If- they want the option to go on to further Education or find a job other than being at home and helping with housework for the girls or field work for the guys, or to migrate to the U.S. as the most likely fall back options.

With some basic Tech literacy, it opens the possibility to find thousands of other jobs in many other industries.

Empowering youth to chose and own their own futures having new tools, skills, and abilities that will serve them for life.
